You must have seen famous singers giving surprise performances at a wedding. Think about the music video of Maroon 5‘s “Sugar.” There’s also a video of Ed Sheeran belting put his hit single “Thinking Out Loud” during a wedding. But out of all those events, there’s nothing like a wedding where Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is your wedding officiant.

The 43-year-old actor teamed up with online movie magazine and YouTube channel Screen Junkies to stage a surprise for one of their members, Nick Mundy. Johnson volunteered to be the officiant of the comedian’s wedding.
Mundy was told that he would just be interviewing Johnson to talk about the latter’s film San Andreas, so he was simply expecting a press junket with his childhood superhero. However, Johnson had other plans, and he instead officiated Mundy’s wedding to his fianceé, Dilara Karabas.
Johnson and Mundy first met in 2013 for an interview. From then onward, the pair has developed a strong and somehow unique friendship.
The surprise wedding was supposed to be a simple prank, but Johnson insisted to make it legal and stepped it up a notch by becoming legally ordained.
