Schrodinger’s cat apparently made it out alive and is now running for office.
Residents of Barnaul, located in the vast Siberian plains, have had enough of all the rampant corruption of their officials that they turn to voting a Scottish fold cat as mayor. Barsik, the 18-month-old cat, is making it big and is relatively the leading candidate in an unofficial online poll. The feline got 91 percent of the entire votes in a survey that was participated by 5,400 respondents. The previous mayor of the city comprised of 700,000 residents was forced to step down due to allegations of abuse of power.

Yevgeny Kuznetsov, a local of the town said, “People don’t know who to trust any more. They have come to the conclusion that they can’t trust the authorities.” The poll was launched anonymously just this month on Vk, a Russian social network. “Only mice don’t vote for Barsik,” says the feline’s campaign slogan.
