Beijing Unveils its Science and Technology Center and it is EPIC

,

In Beijing, China, an Argentinian outfit was chosen out of a list of other famous international offices to construct a “science and technology center” in the area. The bold and authentic design serves as a space to depict technological and scientific advancements as well as a social hub of public significance that expresses the growing relevance of the virtual world. Located in Beijing’s cultural park, the center blends in with the landscape, while offering a remarkable cultural landmark that provides a sense of mystery and reverie.

A view of the center shot from the sky features how the structure is integrated within its framework.

Circular pathways and converging circulation routes sustain the scientific theme of infinity.

Building a durable relationship with the natural environment, the complex forms an artificial island raised six meters above the encircling lake. A rooftop plaza can be reached by three elevated ramps. They, then, give access to numerous areas in the park, giving the impression of a continuous pathway. This enormous roof space lets the public convene and share insights and concepts they gained from the vicinity.

The center has three elevated ramps, which link the park with the rooftop plaza.

Elevators takes guests underground into the center’s prime exhibition areas.

For the main access, you will need to go through a footbridge which is a meter beneath the lake’s surface. When you go inside, there is curtain of falling water encircling the design, which further fortifies the relationship between the natural environment and the center. Guests can take the elevators to get into prime exhibition areas found at the underground level of the complex. These expansive and flexible column-free exhibition rooms have notable artifacts, aside from interactive audio-visual and multimedia displays.

A curtain of falling water envelops the structure.

The “infinity” theme of the center’s scheme is imbued in its joint circular pathways and circulation routes. During winter, the lake solidifies, thus transformed into an ice-skating rink, though the water serves as a thermal barrier that safeguards the complex from very cold temperatures.

At ground level, the internal areas offer views over the nearby park.

Acknowledging how the design should expedite a discourse among nature, technology, mankind, and science, the building acts as the industrial park’s showroom, imparting the country’s intensive levels of research and production, which is an illustration of modern Chinese industry.
