Regardless of the occasion, desserts will always be popular with us …and with the holidays upon us, the ever ending questions remains: Pie or Cake? However, there are also those who would love to eat both just because they love them.

PieCaken

Zac Young, an executive pastry chef, created a recipe that combines a cake and a pie. It is called the PieCaken.

Brought to us by Zac Young -- acclaimed pastry chef and (if you ask me) humanitarian -- this version of the stunning creation will trick you into thinking that all's well in the world.

This recipe is basically a combination of a pumpkin pie, a pecan pie, and an apple upside-down cake. It also comes with a cinnamon buttercream frosting on top.

This pie-cake hybrid combines an apple upside-down cake, a pumpkin pie, and a pecan pie. Oh, and the whole thing is smothered with cinnamon buttercream frosting. Life is going to be okay.

If you wish to try recreating this recipe at home, you can view the full recipe here.

If that looks a little bit too intense, you can start with a single-layer piecaken. This recipe will walk you through the deliciousness from beginning to end, and you will be a hero to many by the time it's all said and done.

Cupcaken

Because slicing a piecaken can be messy and hassle, another foodie created a smaller version.

Slicing up piecakens can become a real hassle, so this saint of a human being created a cupcake version.

Called cupcaken, this sumptuous recipe is very recognizable as it is topped with a chocolate frosting and some cherries. Here is the full recipe.

That's right, everyone. This is a cupcaken, and my faith in humanity has been restored. Drop the mic at Thanksgiving dinner by showing up with a pile of these chocolate-cherry flavor bombs.

Gluten-Free No-Bake Peanut Butter Cheesecake and Chocolate Piecaken

If you are worried about gluten, then this recipe is a must-try.

No gluten? No problem. The same champion that came up with the cupcaken has gone ahead and invited people who lead gluten-free lives to the piecaken party. You can find the recipe for this no-bake ode to chocolate and peanut butter here.
