Summer is finally here! That means it’s time for bikinis, barbeques and drinking! (Responsibly, of course)

There are just two ingredients that go into this Rainbow candy flavored drink: vodka and Skittles. Simple as that!

Skittles

This is where the drink gets a little scientific. You’re going to need 180g of each color of each Skittle. Each individual Skittle is 1g so you can accomplish this Summery drink with approximately 180 skittles.

(Don’t let us hold you back! if you want to try making the vodka sweeter and the color darker, you can use as many Skittles as you want until you reach your desire taste/flavor.)

We know what you’re asking yourself, What about other candy? Yes, it’s very likely that this drink will work with most fruity hard candy available. You can also try Gummy bears! However, with gummy candies you won’t get as much of a vibrant color but you will get the same great sweet taste!!

Vodka

Quality over quantity! When using a medium quality Vodka, you might get somewhat of a medicine taste, especially with the red or purple flavored Skittles. Shelling out the few extra bucks for a higher quality Vodka is going to spark up the flavor a substantial amount. However, if you’re on a budget, you could use a cheaper Vodka and run it through a water filter pitcher like a Brita! It’s definitely worth a try.

You’re going to need 1 750ml bottle per each flavor of Skittle – Five in total. Bigger or smaller bottles are going to result in more or less flavorful drinks for the amount of Skittles used.

Once you’ve dropped your skittles in the alcohol let it sit for about 15 minutes in room temperature. After you see the color start to separate from the Skittles, stand all 5 bottles up in your freezer for about 30-45 minutes. The longer you leave them in the freezer, the more “slushy” the drinks will become. Remove and serve over ice!!!
