Pizza is that kind of food that pretty much everyone wants to eat, especially if you’re hungry. Some take it as a favorite, but some also hail pizza as their life. Well, for the latter, here’s a treat for you.
Pizza lovers, this is pizzadilla. This is what happens when a pizza and a quesadilla meet down in the van by the river for a little late-night action.
Pizzadilla is the newest Internet food sensation that’s going viral because of its mouthwatering looks. This may be one of the most delicious pizzas ever made. You should try and make one!
If you don’t know how to do it, we’re about to show you how. Before you start, you need to have the following ingredients: 1/2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil, 2 large flour tortillas that just fit inside your cast iron skillet, 3/4 cup store-bought or homemade pizza sauce, 5 ounces of shredded whole milk with low moisture mozzarella cheese, 2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese, 2 basil leaves, roughly torn, additional toppings (as desired).
The Steps to Making the Cheesy, Greasy, Crisp-Edged Pizzadilla
Put the first tortilla in the bottom of a hot, oiled cast iron skillet that barely fits it, topped with a thin layer of sauce and cheese. Then top it off with another tortilla.
Cook the tortilla in the skillet over low heat, swirling it occasionally until the bottom side is completely crisped up. Carefully flip it when the bottom is browned.
When it starts to cook, add extra cheese and toppings. Try not to let too much cheese drip out as you go and do it fast.
Top it with more sauce and a few little chunks of torn fresh mozzarella, some shredded Parmesan. As the cheese melts, it should collect around the edges of the quesadilla and crisp up into a substantial brown crust. Your Pizzadilla should turn out something similar to the one pictured above.
Follow those steps, and voila, you’ll get to spend the rest of your day feasting on a round of pizzadilla. And with its taste, it surely won’t be the last time you’re making one.
