Beckham sees to it that he gives back after all the blessings he has received in his life. In addition to being a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, Beckham is a founding member of the Malaria No More UK Leadership Council, and an active member of Help for Heroes, which assists injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been vocal on the war against AIDS and other diseases that have gravely affected third-world countries like South Africa.

At the UNICEF ball held last January 12, 2016, he was given the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership award. The award was presented by Sir Elton John and David Furnish.

The prestigious award is named after beloved actor Danny Kaye of the movie White Christmas. He was the first celebrity ambassador for UNICEF and served until his death in 1987.
