While filling their tanks at a local gas station in Tuscon, Arizona, Ray Madril Jr. and Chris Martinez heard the cries of a woman. She was screaming, “She has my kids! He’s stealing my car!”
Upon hearing the woman, the two teens took matters into their own hands. They decided to pursue the carjacker by themselves. While Martinez was driving, Madril was calling the police.
At one point, the getaway car stopped, and one of the two kids tumbled out. When the police arrived on the scene, they told the teens to stay back. Soon, the 34-year-old Tom Vallancourt was caught. He was then sent to jail to serve 6 ½ years of sentence for auto theft and kidnapping.
The 27-year-old lady, who was pleading for help, was identified as Inna. According to her, she and her mother were talking outside of the vehicle while the kids were in the car. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a man pushed her aside, hopped in the vehicle, and ran off.
The mayor of the city knew about the bravery of the two boys, and they were given a “Real Hero Award”. Inna also gave them never-ending gratitude.
