A video by Karin Lizana, shows two police officers, Lance Whitted and Erik Rueppel, helping a victim of a car accident. According to the NY Daily News, they pulled her to safety mere seconds before the train blasted everything in its path.
Around 6:40 P.M., the officers heard the car crash at the Sunnyvale intersection. They immediately arrived on the scene. There, they saw a man trapped inside a vehicle on the train tracks.
With hardly any time before the train came, one of the police officers was able to rescue the man who looked to be about 20 years old.
In the video, you can see the victim trying to stand after he was rescued. He wasn’t able to move so the policeman dragged him to safety. Just mere seconds after, a train can be seen crashing onto the scene.
According to NBC Bay Area, another train also hit the vehicle. Luckily, no one was injured in that incident.

The officers were interviewed by NBC Bay Area. The officers are being hailed as heroes. Their fast action in the emergency really saved a life.
If the police officers weren’t passing by that intersection at that exact time, the man would have suffered major injuries. The officers saved his life.
The commuter train track has been closed pending investigation. They suspect that the man was driving under the influence but this has not been confirmed.
