A terrifying sight was caught on camera in the little town of Sprague, Washington. A menacingly tall man ran down the sidewalk with a little boy in his arms while two children were chasing after him.
For the Wright Siblings, it could have just been a normal afternoon in the playground, but it turned to be a complete nightmare when a kidnapper snagged 22-month-old Owen and took off running. Instead of freezing on this scene, Owen’s brave siblings Delicia and Brenden sprinted after the man, making loud noises to attract attention.

You can see Delicia trying to keep up with the man’s speed and Brenden still with the baby carriage in hot pursuit. Two teens, who were on the same area, couldn’t help but notice the commotion. In an interview with TV show Inside Edition, one of them commented, “When you kind of pick up there’s a girl running behind him, he’s running down an alleyway with a kid, things don’t look right.”
It even caught the attention of other people, prompting someone to dial 911. “A man grabbed a two-year-old baby child and was running with it. The little kid started screaming,” the caller quickly narrated to the dispatcher.
Luckily, the man appeared not to retaliate, eventually leaving Owen down in a vacant lot.
According to Kathleen Baty, a safety expert, the children reacted exactly the way you should in the face of an emergency situation like this. “Using your voice. Using your words. Screaming, yelling, ‘Help!’ ‘Stranger danger!’ ‘This is not my father!’ Can be the real difference between life and death,” she tells Inside Edition.
Kathleen added that it is also important to teach your children how to deal with adults in public, especially suspicious ones.
“Instilling your kids that when they are out in the public, that if some adult comes up to them, they need to have that gut reaction and go the other way and yell and scream as loud as they can,” she recommended.
