Firefighters saved a two-year-old boy trapped in a 40-foot well with the help of a smartphone in Mengzi City, China.

The rescue operation was quite problematic since the toddler kept sliding from the rescue harness. This was because the harness used was actually made for adults. The firefighters also needed to pump oxygen inside the well so that the child wouldn’t suffocate from the lack of air.
With the use of the video camera feature of an iPhone, the rescue team managed to pinpoint the exact location of the boy and pulled him up to safety.
The toddler was rushed to the hospital after the rescue. Despite the fall, the child didn’t suffer major injuries.
