It is every woman’s dream to be both married and to have a child.
And the timing could not be better for Jasmine Grief who recently married her husband Karl Storey hours after giving birth to their newborn son, Anthony. The 27-year-old new mother drove straight to her wedding ceremony 45 miles away from the hospital just four hours after giving birth.
Baby Anthony was born 7lbs and 12 ozs in Nothumberland’s Hexham General Hospital.
The newlywed couple tied the knot at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop in Gretna Green.
Twenty-six-year old Mr. Storey expressed his during an interview with express.co.uk saying,
‘I call Jasmine the ‘Iron Lady’ as she had the baby at 7:40 a.m. and married me at 11:30 a.m. with our new baby beside us. He was as good as gold during the ceremony and it’s turned out to be the most amazing day of my life. I can’t take it all in.’
Michelle Hall, the wedding manager at Blacksmith’s Shop shared the same elation and said that it was the first time in the venue’s 250-year-old history that a bride has given birth to a child the same day.
‘We were in more of a state of shock than Jasmine who seemed to take it all in her stride.
No-one here could believe that she had just had the baby that she carried in to her own wedding.’
The proud dad who hires mountain bikes as an occupation added,
‘She is the most amazing woman, nothing fazes her at all and she’s got endless energy. There’s no way I could have driven. My hands were shaking that much.’
The new Mrs. Storey planned to return back to work shortly after giving birth.
Little Anthony is the newest addition to the couple’s eldest daughter two-year-old Emily. Mr. Store also has eight-year-old twin boys Benjamin and Thomas from a previous relationship. His brother Bryan acted as the chauffeur for the new parents who are now living in Northumberland Village.
