Twenty-year-old Jeff Louis, a delivery driver working at Gionino’s Pizzeria in Ohio, was just doing a simple delivery to Life Point Church.
The gathering unexpectedly turned into a heartening experience for Louis when he got called on stage by the pastor who was leading the congregation.
The participants of the religious event spontaneously gave him a tip that reached over $700.
The random act of kindness drove the delivery man to tears.
Pastor Ken Wright started the idea to give him a tip since it’s Thanksgiving and he was impressed that the guy was still working hard on a holiday.
Wright said in an interview, “Yeah, I just thought let’s tip him $100. It’s the holiday season.”
The people requested Louis to bring the pizzas on stage and then they tipped him one by one.
In Louis’s video, he said with teary eyes, “You know, the most amazing thing happened. This whole church came up and gave me over $700 for a tip.”
“You know it was spontaneous. It just happened,” Wright added. “They started lining up one by one with their own cash tips.”
For Louis, it was more than a generous tip. It was a newfound hope.
“It really truly amazes me that people who don’t even know me just wanted to help me out that much,” Louis said on his video while trying to hold back his tears.
