James Moss and his 1-year-old son, Zhi, moved to Denver from New York after he was promised a job and a place to stay. When the initial plan fell apart, they found themselves in the streets trying their best to get by.
When things seemingly could not get any worse, a miracle happened.
Leon Logothetis, a member of the global movement #GoBeKind, which is aimed at doing acts of kindness to those in need, came across the father and son. Logothetis, armed with a camera on hand, interviewed Moss about the hardship he was going through. He then donated $1,000 dollars and a temporary place to stay. He later uploaded the video, which has now gone viral.
As the story attracted the attention of many, a GoFundMe page was set up and has helped raise more than $35,000 for Moss and Zhi, enough for the family to get back on their feet. Moss now works as a barber. He’s hoping that one day he can earn enough money for him and his son to completely piece their life back together.
