Robin Williams has touched so many lives, even that of a gorilla, who mourned for him when she learned about his death.

As honorary chair of The Gorilla Foundation located in northern California, Williams was invited in 2001 to meet Koko, the gorilla who understands English and communicates with others using sign language.
In a video released by the foundation, Williams described the meeting as a “mind-altering experience”.
“We shared something extraordinary, laughter,” Williams stated.
“Koko understands spoken English and uses over a thousand of signs to share her feelings and thoughts about daily events, life, love, even death. It was awesome and unforgettable.”
When Koko met Williams that, it had already been more than six months since she smiled. According to the conservation group, this was because her “lifelong gorilla companion, Michael, passed away.
