Before the game against the Detroit Lions starts, the Green Bay Packers requested their fans to have a moment of silence for the people who died in the Paris attacks.

While most of the crowd followed on, one fan took the serenity of the moment to yell out something distasteful.

According to a report, the audience and Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, himself heard somebody shout, “Muslim sucks!”

Rodgers was then asked about  a fan’s comment after the game. He responded professionally and said,

I must admit I was very disappointed with whoever the fan was who made a comment  . . . I thought it was really inappropriate during the moment of silence. It’s that kind of prejudicial ideology that I think puts us in the position that we’re in today as a world.”

Many from social media got teed off and reacted to what happened. Many expressed positive opinion on how Rodgers reacted to the fan’s dogmatic comment. It was a lesson that the world needs to understand at the moment.

It’s disheartening to see that Western Nations have tightened security on their national borders to prevent refugees from coming in, not considering that these refugees are escaping from the same people we all fear, the same people who instigated the series of attacks in Paris last November 13.

Some even went as far as demanding the US government to give more priority to Christian refugees and not the Muslims.

Bad people come from all different nationalities and religions, and they pose a threat to basically anyone, regardless of which god you believe in or what flag you show allegiance. The recent bombings in Beirut, Lebanon, only further . validate that. If we take this as a conflict against religions, that may put us at greater risk for more attacks.

Hence, Rodger’s comment served as a blessing in disguise to wake up the minds of most people regarding what happened.

If we could just learn to stand together as one world.
