When a true-blue Taylor Swift fan was diagnosed with cancer, who else had come to the rescue but Taylor Swift herself!
Months before the “Shake It Up” singer’s concert in Phoenix, Arizona, Naomi Oakes was diagnosed with cancer, acute myelogenous leukemia. To cheer her up, her dad made a video and posted it on YouTube, hoping that the video might reach her idol.
Two days later, Taylor had seen the video and had sent a personal message. The sweet singer went even further than that. She donated a whopping $50,000 to help pay Naomi’s medical expenses for a 6- to 9-month in-patient hospital stay. With Taylor’s huge donation, the family were able to go beyond their GoFundMe target.
As to Naomi’s grief over not being able to watch Taylor’s concert, which she and her best friend Piper had initially planned, Taylor wrote a touching message: “To the beautiful and brave Naomi. I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.”
Watch this young fan’s incredibly happy face upon learning her message had reached her music idol’s attention.
