A teenager from Virginia gave people new hope by showing that kindhearted people are not really endangered species.
Tommy Adams, 18, asked his mother to stop the car so he could help an old man shovel a huge pile of snow.

Adams caught the attention of many people in the United States when his mother posted a photo of him on Facebook, showing the young man helping 76 year-old man named Clarence Coleman plow snow in the middle of the driveways in Nottoway County.
Coleman was struggling to clear out the snow on his walker when Tommy and his mom, Teresa Adams, spotted the elderly.
Teresa got scared at first when her son shouted to stop the car, but all of her worries were wiped out and she felt proud instead when he explained that he just wanted to help the old man.
“I told him to get back into his car because it was cold. Other people who saw him in the snow should have had the decency to stop,” Teresa said.
Tommy Adams spent more than fifteen minutes to clear the snow from the driveway in behalf of Coleman.
“God bless you, the world needs more people like you,” Coleman told Adams.
Many netizens praised the young man for what he did, with one saying, “Kudos to this teen. Goodness and decency has no color or age limit.”
“Proud of Virginia residents like Tommy Adams of Nottoway County – exemplifying what it means to be a Virginian,” Virginia governor, Terry McAuliffe, posted this message on Twitter to recognize Adams’s selfless act.
