Renowned rapper J. Cole is planning something that is quite amazing—he’s giving others the chance to live in a house and be united with their families. Nowadays, such an amazing act of kindness is rarely seen. With everything that’s happening to the world, it’s incredible that someone so famous is still giving out a helping hand.

Cole recently released his new album, which he named Forest Hills Drive, a very important title. It is the treasured address where each woman with multiple children will be able to use the North Carolina rapper’s house, rent-free, for two years.

The twenty-nine-year-old rapper is giving back in a very personal way. J. Cole revealed that he plans to house single mothers rent-free in his childhood home. He said during a recent interview on the weekly podcast series The Combat Jack Show, “My goal is to have that be a haven for families. Every two years, a new family will come in, they live rent-free.”

J. Cole, whose real name is Jermaine Lamarr Cole, said that he knew what it’s like to live in poverty, along with his mother and brother, from first-hand experience.

The “Can’t Get Enough” rapper recalled, “The reason why it had such a big effect on me is that I was coming from somewhere else. I was coming from a military base. The neighborhood we lived in was f—ed up.”

When Cole’s parents were still married, he lived on the base. However, his mother moved him and his brother to a trailer park on the outskirts of Fayetteville, NC, when his parents got separated.

“I knew the energy was not right. I knew my mother was the only white lady in the neighborhood and there was no man in the house,” he said.

Cole named his latest album after his mom purchased a small home for her and her sons on Forest Hills Drive. However, his mom unfortunately lost the house, but Cole was able to put it back years later.

He now has an amazing plan of utilizing the property for a good cause.

“I want her kids to feel how I felt when we got to the house. The idea is that it’s a single mother with multiple kids and she’s coming from a place where all her kids is sharing a room,” he said.
