Halloween may be far from over but for 35 year old Eric Hart his son wearing a costume is a matter of life and death.
Collier, Eric Hart’s 4 month old son was born premature last July and has spent most of his life in the hospital and is currently battling a medical condition. So for Halloween, Hart decided to make a costume for his precious bundle of joy.
And his inspiration is none other than Iron Man himself.
Hart said in an interview,
“I came up with Iron Man because he’s been hooked up to all those machines and wires, and that’s similar to what Iron Man went through.”
Hart is a professional prop maker and went on to create the most adorable Iron man costume for his son. Hart said he found a pattern online and made a paper version from where he created an identical one only this time, it was “baby sized.”
Baby Collier got to wear his costume even it was only for a minute.
Eric and his family embraced the “new normal” on the fact that Collier might be facing years of medical treatments. He emphasized on how important it is to celebrate his son’s first Halloween.
“Even though we’re in the hospital, we’re trying to do everything that a regular family would do and celebrate all the holidays. When he’s older, he’ll be able look back and hopefully see that his parents have basically been giving him a normal life ever since he started. We never thought of him as an interruption over this medical thing.
Hart and the entire family wanted to capture this special milestone to give their son the kind of beautiful life he has.
