At the age of three, Wyatt Maktrav de los Reyes Bedural has already climbed 26 mountains in the Philippines. Although he’s always with his parents during his climbs, it’s just simply amazing how someone as young as him endured such treacherous and tedious activity.

While the boy’s first name means brave, his second name is actually derived from the famous local hiking destination, the Makiling Traverse.
When he was only eight months old, Wyatt went out for his first climbing experience in Pico de Loro. Since then, he was exposed to various outdoor activities.
In a span of three years, he has been to the peaks of 26 mountains in the country, including Mt. Apo in Davao, Mt. Kitanglad in Bukidnon, and Mt. Pulag in Benguet.
Even if there were climbs that needed several days to complete, his parents made sure he’d stay safe throughout their trek. They made sure they have done all the essential preparations and checked whether they brought all the required hiking equipment.
Just like his parents, Wyatt’s passion for hiking is pretty evident. At one year and 11 months, he reached the peak of the highest mountain in the country, Mt. Apo, making him the youngest to achieve such feat. He even took the tough road called Talomo-Apo or the Mindanao mega-traverse.
