This mother, who had all good intentions, thought that it is every little girl’s dream to go to Disneyland.
But the silent and stunned reaction of one of her children did not give that impression after she told her daughters they were going on a surprise trip to see Mickey Mouse and Co.
Fun-loving parent Katie Clem, 33, from Salt Lake City, Utah, filmed what she thought would be a moment of double joy when she decided to suprise her kids with a spontaneous trip to the famous theme park.
But the hilarious deadpan glare by Chloe, 2, who seemed less than enthusiastic about the idea, dwindled her intended surprise.
Chloe was then able to grasp the surprise as it slowly settled in.
The less-than-enthusiastic reaction of Chloe has gone viral along with the video.
Lily, 10, the elder of the two, dreaded going to school because she was unable to bring her favorite teddy, Duffy, which you could see her cuddling with.
Oblivious to the surprise that was about to be announced, young sister Chloe is seen staring out of the window as the camera pans.
Lily exclaimed, “Yay, no school!” and began to laugh as her dad drove past her school.
Chloe was a little more suspicious compared to Lily, who bursted into tears as the good news sank in.
When her mommy told the pair, “You want to ditch school? Okay, let’s ditch school and go to Disneyland,” her optimistic giggles turned to tears of joy.
Her deadpan younger sister simply made a look as if to question if her mommy had lost her mind, while Lily hysterically asked her mom, “Are you serious!”
Chloe didn’t say a word to the announcement, and instead, she simply looked warily into the camera as if she had just been given some bad news, squinting with one eye.
When her mother gave the surprise holiday announcement, the youngster seemed unimpressed.
On the other hand, when her mother said she really was driving them to Disneyland, older sister Lily was overcome with joy.
Viewers highlighted the younger sister’s reaction on YouTube, which ultimately made the clip go viral.
Katie said they were a perfect example of her daughter’s different characters, proven by by their reactions.
‘That is so funny to me, because that’s what Chloe does, a little stink face. She’s staring at Lily like, ‘What is your problem?’ Lily has always been like that since she was Chloe’s age. She’s very emotional, wears her heart on her sleeve. But Chloe is my little danger kid. She’s just like, ‘Yeah, whatever.’ I don’t even have any words for it. It wasn’t a big deal to me at the time, but to see the reaction of people liking Chloe’s response is pretty funny.” she said while speaking to Good Morning America.
On YouTube, the hilarious video has since been viewed over 300,000 times.
