It wasn’t just an ordinary celebration. It was a birthday, a prom, and a wedding all rolled into one.
Held at a local bank in Hood, the grand event was thrown by loving parents Heidi Hall and Ryan Schow for their five-year old daughter, Lila May Schow, since she might not be able to live long enough to experience the events herself. Lila has stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer, a foe she has been fighting for three years.

Figuring it would be Lila’s last birthday, her parents planned on a grand birthday celebration. They started a Facebook group that will help them organize the event. Not long after, donations from local businesses and volunteers came coming their way. From the costumes to the music and the food, everything was donated. Hundreds of people from all over the country attended the event as well.
Lila was dressed up as Cinderella and was surrounded by a group of Disney princesses.
To get her to experience a wedding of her own, her father actually proposed to her, “married” her in a ceremony, and the two shared a father-daughter dance.
Ryan Schow expressed how grateful he is for the support in an interview with ABC affiliate KATU. He said, “We wouldn’t have gotten this far and been able to fight this hard without all the help we’ve been given. We’re so very grateful for that. It’s all about making a little girl smile.”
Lila has already stopped getting chemotherapy treatments after her doctors told the family that treatment would no longer help as her body isn’t strong enough. She is expected to live until around Thanksgiving.
