Her grief-stricken mom, Sandra, spoke to Daily Record to remember her late daughter.
“Karen was such a friendly and caring young girl. She loved her dancing and had been dancing since she was two. She had medals in jazz, ballet, and tap. She spent months working at Paris in their performance team, dressing up as Minnie Mouse and Pinocchio. She loved her time there.”
Karen was behind the wheel and on her way to meet up with some friends when her car crashed in an accident-prone area. She succumbed to injuries to the head and passed away at age 22. Investigation states that Karen had been driving at the average speed limit.
Karen worked in Disneyland Paris before the incident, and her demise was weeks shy from the day she was supposed to receive a great news. She had been studying for a diploma in Dance at Dundee and Angus College. The school sent her diploma two weeks after her death and left dancing shoes in the spot where she lost her life to honor her short but inspiring life.
Friends and family from all over the world attended her funeral to celebrate Karen’s life and pay their respects.
Her mother is left grief stricken and urged road authorities to take action in ensuring safety.
“Anything that could be done to stop another family going through the same heartache would be a huge step forward,” Sandra pleas.
This tragedy should be reminder to authorities, drivers, and pedestrians alike that ensuring safety in our roads should be the number one priority.
For Karen, she will continue to live in the memory of those who love her.
