Kindhearted Security Guard Helps Homeless Man with a Child
Having recently become homeless, 37-year-old Lamont Hammond was worried that his 8-year-old son would have to spend nights on the street. He said he could’ve endured it by himself, but he would never let his son sleep rough.
Hammond has a job and he’s determined to rebuild his life to so he can provide for his son, but at the moment, he doesn’t have enough to get them a night at a hotel. They’re all more expensive than what he can only afford. Stuck in the middle, Hammond stopped into a nearby Waffle House to plan for his next move.
And that’s when the store’s security officer, Amen Webster, saw the father and son.
Having undergone the same ordeal before, Webster knew too well what it felt like to have no bed to sleep on or a blanket to protect you from the cold. He saw the same worried look on Hammond’s face, so the goodhearted man approached the father and decided to ask him about his problem.
Webster shared, “I’m looking at the little boy, and he’s shivering and cold and everything.”
After a short talk with his boss, Webster excused himself, guided the father and son to his car, and drove them to his home, which they can now call theirs too.
