The video of Sean unveiling a banner asking April to be his date for the dance has been retweeted more than 43,000 times, after it was uploaded by her sister on Twitter.
Sean’s mother, Michelle Boots, said, “It just really validates that Sean and April, and children, adults with special needs are important. That they are valued.”
A stretch limo was lent by a stranger so the couple could attend the dance in style. The man, who doesn’t even know Sean or April, did so because he was so touched by their story.
April said, “Sean is the cutest guy. He asked me to go to homecoming, and he gave me tears of joy.”
