Every Christmas, New York–based Carol Suchman gives out toys to the homeless kids. It’s no wonder she’s now number one on Santa’s “Nice List”.
However, this year, her annual cause seems to be making headlines all the way to the North Pole. Why? It is because she’s just bought an entire toy store for all the kids.
It all started when she walked along the West Village and noticed a sign in a storefront that says, “Going Out of Business.”
She was curious and did some negotiations until she was finally able to convince the owner that she will buy the entire inventory of the store, which included some art, school supplies, toys, and stuffed animals.
After that, she donated everything to the Department of Homeless Services of the city.
Upon receiving the gift, director of special events at DHS Antonio Rodriquez said, “I’ve been doing this for many years, and we have many generous sponsors; but I have to say, that this is the first time anybody ever bought out an entire store and donated it.”
