This season, we are bringing you the hottest trends for men that hit the runway for Spring and Summer 2015. These include classic patterns, contemporary designs and a few surprises from the most unlikely color combo and prints you didn’t think would look better for men.
Let us take a look at the top 5 summer trend for men this 2015 as this season unfolds.
1. Nautical Stripes
Stripes are one of the all-time prints for both genders because they are generally easy to pull off and they blend in perfectly to any patterns and colors. During the SS15, Gucci, Jonathan Saunders, Casely-Hayford and Emporio Armani stepped up with their nautical stripes with tailored pieces and jumpers for men.
When choosing the right stripe patterns, always remember the rule of the thumb that horizontal stripes tend to make you look wider while vertical stripes makes you look taller. Play along the lines in a way that complements your shape and height.
2. Denim Over Denim
Denim is here to stay this year, especially this summer. From Tom Ford to Gucci, fashion designers just can’t get enough of denim for their Spring and Summer 2015 collections.
The key to nailing an all denim look without looking like a construction worker in the nineties is ‘layering’. Layer on a denim jacket over your chambray buttoned down shirt or put on a nice tie on your denim ensembles to make it look classy and sleek.
3. Men in Red
Men in red are equally dazzling to ladies wearing red gowns, take cue from Dolce & Gabbana’s matador themed collection with his tailored and sportswear-inspired separates in different shades of red.
When wearing red however, keep other colors in low key. Red is a very catchy color so make a statement out of it and avoid overdoing your look with other bright pieces.
Real men wear florals. Givenchy, Hype, A. Sauvage and Topman Design prove that florals do not only look great on women but also on men. To nail this trend, you can incorporate these prints into your bomber jackets, tees, shorts and basketball trainer.
When wearing florals, keep other pieces in neutral colors. Stay away from Hawaiian florals in big prints and fancy colors as well unless you are attending a luau party.
5. Green And Blue
Baartmans & Siegel, Pringle of Scotland, Gieves & Hawkes and Hackett show that color blocking green and blue is a perfect way to enjoy your summer.
When choosing the right blend of these two colors, choose a more masculine look, less vibrant and more tailored unless you love to take fashion risks.
