A Lebanon-based company founded the Lykan Hypersport in 2012. It is a limited production sports car by W Motors, and it’s the first super car to be manufactured in the Middle East. This super car is even featured in the video games Project CARS, Driveclub, Asphalt 8: Airborne, and GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience and was spotted in the film Furious 7.
Only seven units of the car are planned to be produced by W Motors. In February 2013, the first pre-production Lykan HyperSport was launched at the Qatar Motor Show.
The World’s Third-Most Expensive Car
The Lykan HyperSport is $1 million more expensive than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which was officially the fastest road car in the world in 2013. Although costing a couple of millions, Lykan HyperSport is only the third-most expensive car int he world, following behind the very limited (four created, three sold) Lamborghini Veneno ($4.6 million) and the one-off Maybach Exelero ($8 million). The Lykan is at $3.4 million.
It is the first car to have headlights with embedded jewels; they contain titanium LED blades with 420 diamonds (15cts), although the buyer has a selection of sapphires, yellow diamonds, diamonds, and rubies to be integrated into the vehicle’s headlights at purchase. With all of its features, it’s the reason the car has such a very expensive price.
The car is claimed to have a top speed of 385 km/h (239 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 2.8 seconds. The Lykan HyperSport is powered by a twin turbo flat-six 3.7-litre (3746 cc) engine from the Ruf CTR3 producing 552 kW (740 bhp; 751 PS) and 960 N·m (708 lb·ft) of torque.
