Nestled within the humid and arid desserts of Abu Dhabi lies the world’s largest indoor theme park namely the Ferrari World.

This massive indoor theme park is located at the Emirate’s Yas Marina racing circuit, Ferrari World spreads over a whopping 86,000 square meters  (925,696 square feet) while its wide red roof covers 200,000 meters (2.15 million square feet).

Ferrari World’s general manager Claus Frimand talked to AFP in an interview stating,

“The park is designed for up to 10,000 people at any one time, It’s fantastic — this is what we have been waiting for for years literally three years ago, there was nothing here, only sand.”

Ferrari World offers a total of 20 attractions which include the Formula Rossa. The world’s fastest roller coaster  which runs at 240 kilometers per hour (150 miles). The said attraction is built high above Abu Dhabi’s Formula One track and aims to accurately recreate the sensation of driving a Formula one car that is complete with drops and turns generating 1.7 G’s.

This speed is more than enough to pin 16 people down on their seats. Other notable rides from the theme park include the Fiorano GT Challenge and the Scuderia Challenge giving visitors the ultimate ride of their lives.

The world’s largest indoor theme park is part of Abu Dhabi’s multi billion dollar effort to develop Yas Island. The Emirates also have plans of opening other Ferrari World branches at the Louvre and Guggneheim museums on the nearby Saadiyat Island.
