J.K. Rowling, beloved author of the Harry Potter series, has cast yet another spell to make us love her more.
Rowling rejects the comparison of Donald Trump made by BBC to the infamous villain she created from her books by declaring that Voldemort was “nowhere near as bad.”
Trump has notably been making headlines with his anti-Muslim rants during his presidential campaign. The tweet was about his desire to ban Muslims from the United States should he win the presidential bid. Rowling, clearly not a fan of this republican presidential hopeful, didn’t hesitate to show her displeasure toward his views.
Rowling doesn’t just use her social media as a platform for updates on the Harry Potter world, but she does address serious issues by retweeting links about effects of religious discrimination in society. Whatever Rowling speaks for, her voice is often heard as she has a wide audience online. So her classy response in her comment about Trump gained a round of applause.
This isn’t the first time Trump was compared to an iconic villain. The Internet exploded with the similarities of him and notorious dictator Adolf Hitler. A lot of people continue to shun Trump for his political views, but how Rowling handled it with style makes what she did remarkable in its own.
