Millions of fans have flocked to theaters and picked up DVDs to watch the hit film trilogy The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence; and the expectation is even higher when Mockingjay: Part II is released on November 20.
With the franchised success, Lionsgate has decided to take things up a notch by planning an amusement park in Atlanta, Georgia. The park will be based on the arena where Katniss Everdeen and her colleagues fight until the death.
Lionsgate’s team created an artistic rendering of what the park will look like complete with roller coasters traversing over the park.
At night, the theme park will have colorful light shows, similar to the Disney Parks that made them popular.
Along with The Hunger Games theme park, The New York Times also reported that Lionsgate has plans to build theme parks based on the films Step Up and Now You See Me. According to the publication, the Step Up theme park will feature a dancing Channing Tatum.
