10.  Ferrari FXX

Top speed: 227 mph

The FXX is a race supercar and only 29 people owned this model who were pre-selected by Ferrari. The cars are also maintained by Ferrari as part of their FXX program.

9.  Pagani Huayra

Top speed: 230 mph

Named  as “The Hypercar of the Year 2012” by Top Gear Magazine, Huayra is one of the cars featured in the movie Transformers: Age of Extinction as the KSI prototype turned Decepticon Stinger.

8.  McLaren F1

Top speed: 231 mph

McLaren F1 was the “Greatest Supercar of All Time” in the nineties and there were only 65 legal cars produced for the said model.

Top speed: 241 mph

Produced by SSC North America, SSC Ultimate Aero has a V8 engine and a horsepower of 787 hp.

3.  Koenigsegg Agera R

Top speed: 260 mph

From Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg, Agera in local term means ‘to take action.’ It was awarded as the ‘Hypercar of the Year’ in 2010 by Top Gear magazine.

2.  Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Top Speed: 267 mph

The Bugatti Veyron SS set a record in Top Gear after hitting the maximum speed of 267.8 mph July of 2010 although Guinness World Records tried to refute the numbers after few issues surfaced.

1. Hennessey Venom GT

Top speed: 270 mph

Known to be the fastest road car in the world,  Hennesy Venom GT beats the previous title holder, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, during the testing done on the Kennedy Space Center’s shuttle landing strip in Florida on February 14, 2014 although Guinness Book of Records does not qualify it as the fastest production car because it ran in a single direction.
