Known to be the largest tropical-themed park in Europe, Tropical Islands is one of the best destinations you can try this summer.
Tropical Islands has the biggest indoor rainforest in the world, an indoor beach, various tropical plants, swimming pools, bars and restaurants, and it is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.
The resort is located in the district of Dahme-Spreewald in Brandenburg, Germany. It used to be the Brand-Briesen Airfield in Krausnick. It has a maximum capacity of 6,000 visitors a day and according to reports, the hall had 975,000 visitors during its first year of operation.
The resort has four different themed areas, The Tropical Village which contains model traditional buildings from Thailand, Indonesia, Borneo and Samoa, The Rainforest where you can see around 50,000 plants in different species, The Tropical Sea and The Bali Lagoon.
Aside from themed parks, they also have other attractions like the mini-golf, island balooning, water slides and a lot of shows and entertainments.
Tropical Islands also accommodates guests with their Rain forest Camps inside the dome and themed guest rooms and lodges.
The Big Dome has been awarded the Top 11 in Germany’s Top 100 Sites and Attractions by German National Tourist Board in 2013. Recently it also bagged the Camping Info Award 2015.
The park is also a four time awardee of Golden Pine Leisure Awards and it was also crowned as Parkscout People’s Choice Award last year under the Best Adventure Pool category.
