Scott Bison, a passionate glass artist from Oregon, can create stunning hand-crafted glass-blown pieces with subtle colors. Often times, he imitates aquatic animals and amphibians, because their natural forms blend well with the flowing quality of the molten glass he shapes.
His career as a glassblower artist started in high school. One day, he discovered that he can bend a glasss tube over a bunsen burner. Apparently, that experience opened a new path for him. He then worked with several professional tutors and practiced for years, until he finally became an expert at shaping and twisting molten glass.
According to Scott, he takes pride in working energetically. He even likes to challenge himself. He said on his website:
“If I don’t lose a piece of day from getting in over my head, then I am not pushing myself hard enough. Skill is the raw material of a great piece, and drive and energy make it take shape.”
