See Why This Moment Between Bride and Daughter is So Heartbreaking

It’s never easy to lose someone to cancer, especially if that person is someone special like a close friend or a family member. With that in mind, Louisiana-based photographer Ashley Frantz posted a photo on her Facebook page that shows a lovely bride holding the hands and the face of her daughter who died two years ago.

“It was one of the most beautiful and difficult pictures I’ve ever been asked to do,” said Frantz.

The bride in the photo is named Amanda. She is Frantz’s friend. Unfortunately, she lost her daughter Azalee to cancer two years ago, before she could even find the man she will marry.

Amanda wanted Azalee to become a part of her big day, so she looked for ways to include her. After a thorough discussion with herself, Frantz came up with a unique concept for her wedding photo shoot.

On the day of the shoot, something beautiful happened. A lovely butterfly landed on Amanda’s dress, and Frantz immediately captured the moment.

Well, it’s common for people to find signs from people who have passed. But just by looking at the face of the bride, she clearly knew her daughter was with her on her special day.

Frantz narrated on her Facebook page:

“Today at the ceremony, Amanda and Chip released butterflies in remembrance of their beautiful little Azalee. It was a moment in time that stood perfectly still for all in attendance, not a dry eye to be seen. As the butterflies flew up and away, one little beauty decided she wanted to stay a while. She landed right on Amanda (closest to her heart) and stayed while a heart-wrenching cry was shared between the bride and groom (and the entire congregation) . . . then it flew up and perched itself on a nearby tree. It stayed there and was still sitting so peacefully even as we left.”
