Stunning Photos of the Super Moon Taken by Photographers From Around the Globe

,

For the first time since 1982, the world has witnessed two lunar phenomena all in one night—lunar eclipse and a super full moon. Light is refined through the Earth’s atmosphere during a lunar eclipse, which is why the moon has a reddish color. Super moon is a phenomenon where the orbit of the moon is closest to the Earth, thus appearing to be 8 percent bigger.

The timely combination of two lunar events will happen again in 2033. Here are amazing photos of the astronomical phenomena from photographers all over the world who captured the dual event in camera.
