No one has ever completed the haunted house in its entirety - even a marine and adrenaline junkie did not make it through.

The manor is considered as the world’s most exclusive haunted house, which has a waiting list of more than 24,000 people. Not a single soul has been able to finish the challenge posed by the haunted house, even an adrenaline junkie and a marine didn’t make it through.

No two visits are ever the same because of its cinematic nature.

The experience has been depicted as a true-to-life horror movie. Throughout the ordeal, visitors travel to one of the four locations, while having their experience filmed the whole time. Everything is truly interactive, and the entire haunt can last between four and eight hours, and spectators can watch on global webcams.

Participants have had their heads forced into a cage of snakes, gagged, tied, and have even eaten rotten eggs, which is all part of an elaborate scheme. The theme changes every year.

Russ and his girlfriend, Carol Schultz, have been reported to spend more than $500,000 just to make the McKamey the scariest experience on the planet. Russ came up with the idea more than fourteen years ago and is running the whole project free-of-charge.

According to Russ, the haunt is more about smoke and mirrors, though it has been described as the “world’s scariest.”

The McKamey Manor, in San Diego, California, can only accommodate two visitors at a time.

Participants must be at least 21 and have no potentially dangerous medical conditions, despite having Russ describe the house as Pg-13, family friendly, and “like Indiana Jones on steroids.”

All of the guests have to sign a waiver before going ahead with the haunt. Russ, 55, who is a fan of horror movies like The House On Haunted Hills, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Psycho, mentions that the experience has been known to make grown men cry.
