Sex Dolls to Get Smarter with Artificial Intelligence Technology

Meet Matt McMullen, a tech entrepreneur who trades the more industry friendly walls of Silicon Valley for a shady factory in San Marcos, California. As CEO of Abyss Creations, McMullen has dedicated his life to oversee his creations—terrifyingly realistic silicone sex dolls.

His creations, which are called RealDoll, retail for $5,000 a piece and come in a variety of shapes, colors, and even sizes. For the past two decades. McMullen has been dedicating his life to their production, and he now plans to push the envelope even further by having the robots exhibit actual emotions.

That’s right, McMullen is working on a technology that can bring these sex dolls to life, giving them the ability to talk to the humans and even develop a relationship much deeper than just mere physical contact. According to McMullen, his venture will be able to stop prostitution forever.

“I don’t know if it would be the end of it, but I think it could certainly make a difference,” he told BBC. “There are a lot of horrible acts that are driven by sexual urges and if this is an available option and this is something that those people could, you know, get rid of their appetite whatever is, then I think that’s a good thing.”

McMullen’s success in the industry is also what partially drove him to venture into something as bizarre as finding love through artificial intelligence. He now uses virtual reality technology such as the Oculus Rift in making his ambition a reality. But what McMullen doesn’t foresee is that this can somehow damage relationships or even a person’s lifestyle forever.

So is this multimillion dollar business here to stay despite how taboo it is? Seeing how much success an individual like McMullen is currently enjoying in the adult industry, it’s hard to see it stopping anytime soon.
