Back when she was being promoted as an American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks was open about being a virgin. But that all changed later as the singer no longer sported the purity ring in her hand.
Another American Idol alumnus with similar views on celibacy is Carrie Underwood. The admission came during an interview with Slate magazine back in 2007, where the award-winning country singer said she was saving herself for wedding night. Fast forward several years later, Underwood kept that promise and married Mike Fisher in July 2010 and had a son together.
Reality show couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have gotten their taste of fame, posing as the infamous villains in The Hills. They have since gone to do a slew of headline-grabbing appearances, one of which was Pratt’s admission that his wife was a virgin before they married and that they had to result into placing pillows between them when in bed to resist any unwanted temptation.
Hilary Duff has maintained her good image for a long time. She has told Elle magazine that her virginity was something she liked about herself but played it coy in an interview with Cosmopolitan. She told the magazine, “I had a 26-year-old boyfriend,” possibly referring to Good Charlotte‘s Joel Madden, who she famously dated at sixteen years old, “so everyone can make their own assumptions about what I was doing.”
Duff has recently finalized her divorce with hockey player Mike Comrie, with whom she shares a son.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
To clarify, this isn’t to say that both Nick and Mariah weren’t experienced in bed when they met each other, but they did hold off the intimacy until they tied the knot in April 2008 in the Bahamas. The couple are no longer together, though, as Mariah is set to walk down the aisle with Australian billionaire James Packer soon.
