Chinese manufacturers have been known for their skilled replication and production of whatever gadgets and devices are trending. Their reverse engineering has enabled them to produce quality smartphones like this one with cheaper material and manufacturing cost, while also giving a performance that rivals to those made by the competitors.
Introducing the Oppo R5, the thinnest smartphone available in the market. It only has a shell thickness of an astounding 4.85 mm, seizing the previous record from Gionee Elife S5.1 which only measures 5.15 mm in thickness.
Along with the astonishing thin metal body, Oppo R5 also boasts its 5.2-inch AMOLED display with an impressive resolution of a full HD which is 1920 x 1080 pixels. This smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon platform 615 for its processing unit with 64-bit 8-core (quad-core 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz, four). Specs also include a 2 GB RAM, 13-MP main cam and 5-MP front camera — both of which have optics f / 2.0.
It supports LTE technology and has only a 2000 mAh battery.
It has a software platform Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4.
Gesture commands are also av available for Oppo R5. To access the flashlight, you can draw a “V” symbol with your fingers on the screen, while a circle will launch the camera. Drawing a “W” sign on the screen will run the application WeChat .
However, there are flaws of conquering the record of thinnest smartphone of all time. Due to its form, it doesn’t posses a standard 3.5 headphone jack. YOu have to purchase an microUSB adapter or use the Bluetooth fucntion to listen to music.
It also has a built-in 16-GB storage capabilities with no memory card.
