Minnesota Company Creates Pistol That Can Be Folded into a Smartphone

A double-barreled handgun can be folded to look like a smartphone and can be easily concealed, thanks to Minnesota company Ideal Conceal.

The weapon, which can be folded to look like a smartphone, is the kind of weapon that you can easily put in your pocket, so there is no way for people to know what you actually have on you, unless they take a closer look.

The pistol has been built to fold into a single frame and the .380-caliber weapon folds down and locks in place when opened. Closed, the trigger and trigger guard will be covered by the grip, which gives it the appearance of a smartphone being packed inside a case. The pistol was cleverly designed so that people can’t tell whether or not it is loaded. It also comes with a bullet clip attached for added value.

While the company’s aim is to promote self-defense, the weapon is still considered a firearm, so anyone who wants to own one will have to check their local and state laws when it comes to carrying weapons. All 50 states in the US have passed their own regulations regarding carrying concealed weapons and firearms, and most of them require a permit from the government.

However, the company is still marketing their products for business, saying that the idea is to meet demands regarding handguns that people can carry on a day-to-day basis, in a way that is easier for them to do. They stated, “From soccer moms to professionals of every type, this gun allows you the option of not being a victim.”

The pistol is still under development although creator Kirk Kjellberg believes that it should be ready by mid-year, and will be available for $395. He already has over 2,500 emails regarding the product and at this day and age, it seems reasonable to put out that much cash for a handgun that can be concealed in the pocket of your jeans.
