The holidays did not pass without controversy in the Philippines. A video surfaced of a priest singing a Christmas song while riding a hoverboard inside a church, and it has gone viral and sparked outrage.
The video was posted on Facebook on December 26 and has been viewed over 14 million times.
Parishioners can be seen cheering and clapping while the priest adeptly rolls around.
The Diocese of San Pablo, Laguna, has said that the priest’s actions were wrong.

The unnamed priest sang a Christmas song as a way of welcoming the congregation for the Christmas Eve Mass.
The mass is the highest form of worship, and it should not be used for attention-seeking gimmicks, according to the diocese.
The diocese has indicated that priest has been suspended, saying, “He will be out of the parish and will spend some time to reflect on this past event.”
