Booth was charged with burglary, and the judge chosen to handle his case happened to be Judge Glazer.
Forty-nine-year-old Booth was caught by Hialeah police in June 2015. According to NBC Miami, he was caught driving the same gold Honda allegedly used in a robbery. Booth took off when an officer tried to stop the vehicle, which led to a police chase.
Booth drove off causing two road accidents and eventually wrecked the car before leading police on a foot chase on foot in which he was eventually caught.
Booth was charged with 7 crimes, including: grand theft, burglary, fleeing from authority, reckless driving, fleeing from the scene of the accident, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
When he saw her former schoolmate’s face, Glazer couldn’t help but ask Booth if he went to the same middle school. As a response, Booth smiled but later cried helplessly in front of his former classmate.
“I’m sorry to see you here. I always wondered what happened to you,” Glazer said.
“This was the nicest kid in middle school; he was the best kid in middle school. I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened,” she continued.
“What’s sad is how old we’ve become. Good luck to you, Sir, I hope you are able to come out of this OK and just lead a lawful life.”
Judge Glazer set a bond of $43,000 that Booth is yet to post.
