It is very parent’s worst nightmare to have their children exploited, especially when the exploitation comes from authority figures in their own school.
For the students of Encinal High School in Alameda, the nightmare came to life when a high-school teacher, who is yet to be identified, asked the students to take selfies with sex toys and contraceptives from their parents.

Mothers Kimberly Cobene and Evangeline Garcia have been vocally upset by the allegations on the Math teacher. The mothers found out about the sex toy scandal when a counselor from their after school program informed them about it.
“If the kids took it as a joke, then why did one kid take it serious and actually did the extra credit work, and was shown as an example in class?” Garcia asked.
“We don’t feel comfortable with our children in his presence. All they could tell us is that, ”Oh, this is an HR issue. It’s being investigated.'”
Susan Davis, representative from the Alameda Unified School District, has been tight-lipped about the issue. “I can’t give you details about that because it’s an ongoing investigation,” she said.
“From what I understand, a student actually did it and he used that as an example of what it should look like for the other students,” Cobene said. “If the school and the district doesn’t protect them, I will.”
