Woman Bravely Fires Gun at Armed Robbers Who Ransacked Their Home – Shocking Video

It was 2:30 a.m. in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, when couple Craven Coetzee and Driekie Croucamp were asleep as armed robbers broke into the house through a window. Luckily, the couple were more than ready to face them as they have made it a point to hide necessary weapons all over the house.

The burglars, were armed with screw drivers in order to break in. They also had rope and electrical wire in tow, making Coetzee suspect they were planning to tie them up with it.

Taking some of the kitchen knives, burglars pocketed it and moved cautiously around the house

The thieves managed to snag Croucamp’s purse after approaching her room

“She heard a noise, then she got up and listened,” Coetzee said. “Then she noticed all the cats were gone, and she knew something was wrong.”

At almost the same time, the robbers were most likely aware of her movement as one of them froze on the spot.

The couple do not share a room, as Coetzee’s job requires him to work by dawn. He sleeps on the third floor of their complex and is seen in the surveillance video to have fallen asleep with his laptop still on. Meanwhile, Croucamp was already getting up to see what was making all the noise.

As soon as she saw the armed robbers, she pointed her gun at them and yelled, “Freeze!”

The exact moment she did just that, one of the burglar’s first instinct was to lunge at her with a knife. That’s when Croucamp fired the gun, waking up her boyfriend.

By the time Coetzee ran to check what the commotion was all about, he grabbed his own gun, but the burglars were out the window. Just to make sure that the coast was clear, he switched the panic button on, which was turned off the whole night. He also surveyed the whole house to see if the coast was clear.

Alwin Lebans, spokesperson for the Eastern Cape Police, told the media that the burglars stole Croucamp’s purse, which had her bank cards and an undisclosed amount of cash. As for the couple, Coetzee is especially proud of his girlfriend’s quick thinking and bravery.

“She didn’t panic, she didn’t freak out,” he said.  “Those guys are exceptionally lucky they didn’t get killed, they really are.”
