He’s known as the brilliant inventor behind alternating current or AC and his work was used as the basis for wireless communications system, lighting, X-rays, radar, and many others. There was a lightning storm at the time of his birth

It was midnight of July 9, 1856, when Tesla was born. There was a lightning storm that was believed to be a bad omen. The midwife was heard saying,  “This child will be a child of darkness.” His mother replied, “No, he will be a child of light.”

He had a superior memory

The brilliant physicist had a photographic memory. He could perfectly recall every book he had read and images seen.

He had bad sleeping habits

According to studies, a person needs at least eight hours of sleep everyday. But Tesla claimed that he only sleep a maximum of 2 hours a day. He was even able to stay awake for 84 hours straight at one time because he was so engrossed with his work.

He had a penchant for pigeons

During his later years until his death in 1943, Tesla would walk to the park from his home to feed the pigeons and would bring home the injured birds and help them recuperate.

He also had a feminist side

“This struggle of the human female toward sex equality will end in a new sex order, with the female as superior,” Tesla said.
