This Woman is Literally Recreating Works of Art …Check Out Her Canvas!



Ever wondered what a beautiful painting would look like if you use it as design for a cake? Maybe you’ve thought that it would look awesome or somewhat horrible? Fortunately, Maria A. Aristidou is working on her new project, which focuses exactly on that.


Maria’s project called, “Art on Cakes” is being done for local patisserie Vienna Boutique, a cake gallery in Larnaka, Cyprus. Also she’s best known for creating art in coffee, she decided to try and venture on a totally new field with her passion.

Each cake painting takes approximately 6 to 10 hours to make, depending on its design and size. The cakes are all made with Vienna Boutique’s popular chocolate recipe covered in sugar paste and then decorated with edible paints.

It perfectly captures the famous painting and each intricate detail has been carefully added onto every layer of the cake.

Be honest, would you eat this cake or would you rather keep it as a decoration for your house? Kind of hard to pick which is the better choice, right?

These cakes totally brought out a whole new look to these beautiful paintings. They came alive into something that’s totally different from their former selves. It’s not that these cakes are better compared to the original pieces, but they do provide a fresh way to look at them. It offers us with a totally new perspective that is both refreshing to the eyes and to the palette.
