Fallen Officer’s Son Receives A Gift of a Lifetime from a Generous Stranger

When a police officer is killed in the line of duty, they leave behind a legacy. Oftentimes, they leave behind a family as well. They’re the ones who are left to pick up the pieces left by the tragedy.

Tanner Brownlee lost his father, Weld County Deputy Sam Brownlee in 2010 after a tragic car chase. When his father’s $12,500 squad car was put on the auction block, he decided to try buying the car himself as a tangible token of his father’s legacy.

He started a GoFundMe page in order to raise funds to buy it. During the auction, however, the bidding went up above what he could afford and so he was outbidded by local farmer Steve Wells. All the young man’s hopes went down the drain.

But just as he thought he would never have his father’s squad car, Mr. Wells did something that had surely alleviated the son’s grief.
