You rarely see other species of animal having friendship with each other, especially if they’re both predators. A female grey wolf and a male brown bear were spotted every night for ten straight days by Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen. They even share food with each other and spend several hours together between 8pm and 4am.
“No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends, It’s very unusual to see a bear and a wolf getting on like this, I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone. It is nice to share rare events in the wild that you would never expect to see,” says Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen, who took these surprising photos.
Their unusual friendship might had started since they were young.
When they’re not hunting, they enjoy playing with each other.

Lassi photographed the female grey wolf and male brown bear every day and night for 10 days straight.
